From Dreamer to Travel Junkie
Since I was a kid, I have always dreamed of traveling the world, exploring countries and meeting people from different walks of life. The older I got, the stronger the urge became, too. Sadly, though, I also grew up believing working to pay bills was more important than living out my dreams. I’d take a few road trips here and there to quench my thirst but most days were spent in the usual routine – wake up, go to work, sleep, repeat. It ruined relationships, dulled my creativity and continually fed the wrong belief. And to be totally honest, it’s still a struggle at times. Habitual thinking is a tough thing to break. The more time I spend out on the road, however, the more my mind wraps its head around the idea that I can live out my travel junkie dreams. Bills may always be there, but life won’t be. That’s why I decided to stop dreaming of being a travel junkie and just become one.
I’m not saying you should quit your job. If you’re happy, that’s great. I’m here to simply share my stories and hopefully inspire you to do a bit of traveling yourself. It’s the best way to learn about not only yourself, but of the world around you.
